Verschärfung der Sanktionen gegenüber Myanmar
Der Bundesrat hat am 17. Oktober 2018 aufgrund seiner Besorgnis über die systematischen Menschenrechtsverletzungen die Sanktionen gegenüber Myanmar wieder verschärft. Die Schweiz schliesst sich damit den EU-Sanktionen vom 26. April sowie vom 25. Juni 2018 an. Die neuen Bestimmungen treten am 17. Oktober 2018 um 18 Uhr in Kraft.

Tightening of sanctions against Myanmar
On 17 October the Federal Council once again tightened sanctions against Myanmar due to its concerns over systematic human rights violations. Switzerland is thereby aligning itself with the sanctions adopted by the EU on 26 April and 25 June. The new provisions come into force at 6pm on 17 October 2018.
